We are greatly saddened by the loss of Lieutenant Paul Fridley but are proud to keep his spirit alive through this scholarship for Navy aviation dependents.
Paul, from Annandale, VA, was a student at W. T. Woodson High School where he rarely missed a day. While an excellent student academically, Paul found his joy in high school while playing lacrosse and football. He loved being part of a team and the experience of coming together as a group with a common purpose.
After graduation, Paul attended the University of Virginia, where he studied mechanical engineering and continued his love of sports playing club lacrosse. His time as midshipman in the Naval ROTC Unit at UVA was pivotal for Paul. He was a highly respected leader and mentor within the unit. It is there that he met his wife, Sarah and began his next chapter.
Paul served in the Navy as a helicopter pilot and was proud to be a part of the HSC community with HSC 8 in San Diego.
The LT Paul R. Fridley Memorial Scholarship will change the lives of students who have the courage to pursue their dreams whatever the path. Through this endowed scholarship, Paul's legacy will live on and continue to give support to those in need.
